CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Goodrich Corp. said Monday it will equip U.S. military helicopter engines with an enhanced digital electronic control unit.
The unit will be used for GE T700 engines powering Sikorsky H-60 Black Hawk, Jayhawk and Seahawk helicopters for the U.S. Army, Coast Guard and Navy and Boeing AH-64 Apache helicopters for the Army, Goodrich said. Goodrich said it received an Army contract last month for 55 control units, with options for 230 more. The control units include enhanced built-in test and fault recording formulas to help keep the engine running well and conduct performance assessments. The electronic control units will be produced by Goodrich's Engine Control Systems-North America business in West Hartford, Conn. Goodrich's shares rose 92 cents, or 1.8 percent, to $53.34 in afternoon trading.- Loading Comments...
