Apple: Analysts' Upgrades, Downgrades

Microsoft (MSFT) cut from Conviction Buy List at Goldman. Estimates were also lowered, to reflect lower server sales. Buy rating and $30 price target.

PepsiCo (PEP) estimates higher at Credit Suisse. PEP 2009 and 2010 EPS estimates increased to $3.70 from $3.68 and to $4.10 from $4.06, respectively. Maintain Outperform rating and $60 price target.

Philip Morris (PM) price target, estimates higher at Barclays. PM price target raised to $54 from $50. 2009 EPS estimates increased to $3.25 from $3.22, 2010 lifted to $3.80 from $3.67. Maintain Overweight rating.

Prudential (PRU) target raised at FBR to $66. Company is seeing higher assets, under management, variable annuity sales and operating ROE. Outperform rating.

Starbucks (SBUX) estimates, target boosted at Goldman. SBUX estimates were raised through 2011. Via instant coffee should add to earnings. Neutral rating and new $23 price target.

Vertex Pharma (VRTX) estimates lowered at Morgan Stanley through 2011. Company is seeing a higher near-term cash burn. Equal-weight rating.

Walgreen (WAG) price target lifted at Merrill/BofA to $42 from $38 as better economic profits are ahead. Reiterate Buy rating. 2010 and 2011 EPS estimates set at $2.30 and $2.65, respectively.

Whirlpool(WHR) target boosted at Citigroup to $70. Company will benefit from a more stable macro environment. Hold rating.
