Mylan Says Generic Parkinson's Drug Approved
NEW YORK (AP) Mylan Inc. said Wednesday it started selling a generic version of Bristol-Myers Squibb Co.'s Parkinson's disease drug Sinemet.
The Food and Drug Administration approved the drug in three doses, the Pittsburgh-based company said. It launched the generic tablets after gaining approval. Sinemet is a common Parkinson's disease treatment containing two drugs, levodopa and carbidopa. Mylan said U.S. sales totaled $79 million for the 12 months ended June 30. In morning trading, Mylan shares lost 28 cents to $15.87. Shares of New York-based Bristol-Myers Squibb rose 3 cents to $22.60.- Loading Comments...
