Bon-Ton To Start Operating Its Own Jewelry Units

YORK, Pa. (AP) — Department store chain Bon-Ton Stores Inc. said Thursday it will take control of its fine jewelry departments in 86 of its stores.
Finlay Fine Jewelry Corp. had been operating the company's jewelry departments, and Bon-Ton said that former Finlay associates will be offered jobs in these new stores. Bon-Ton will have merchandise ready for this year's holiday season. "We believe internally operating and building this destination business will provide increased sales and profits as well as drive traffic into our stores," Chief Executive Bud Bergren said in a statement.
