OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — A unit of Oshkosh Corp. said Monday it received a $24 million order to supply an independent suspension system for more than 300 mine-resistant, ambush-protected vehicles.

Oshkosh received the order after BAE Systems was recently awarded a contract for the vehicles. Oshkosh says its suspension system will provide improved mobility for the difficult on- and off-road terrain in Afghanistan.

The vehicles will be updated at locations where the U.S. military is operating. Work is expected to be completed by March 31, 2010.

Shares of Oshkosh added 77 cents, or 2.7 percent, to $29.45 in afternoon trading.
