Lockheed Martin Gets $29M Pentagon Deal
HERNDON, Va. (AP) Lockheed Martin Corp. said Monday it received a $29 million contract from the U.S. Joint Forces Command for a system that uses broadcast technologies to provide commanders on the ground with an advanced video system.
Lockheed's Valiant Angel is a system that applies highly advanced broadcasting technologies to help commanders collect, manage, process and exploit and disseminate full-motion video. The company will work with team members Harris Corp. and NetApp Inc. to design and integrate the new system to manage video processing. It is expected to give commanders better visibility into the vast amounts of real-time video collected from manned and unmanned aircraft and ground-based sensors. Shares of Bethesda, Md.-based Lockheed Martin fell 84 cents to $79.24 in afternoon trading, while shares of Melbourne, Fla.-based Harris added 79 cents, or 2.2 percent, to $37.36.- Loading Comments...
