Virgin Media Names Eammon O'Hare As CFO
PHILADELPHIA (AP) Virgin Media Inc. said Thursday that it has named a new chief financial officer, its third in less than two years.
The provider of cable TV, phone and broadband services appointed Eamonn O'Hare to the position, effective in November. He was the U.K. finance director at retailer Tesco plc. Prior to joining Tesco, he was the CFO at Energis plc. He also has held management positions at PepsiCo Inc. O'Hare replaces Jerry Elliott, who left after a nine-month stint. Before Elliott joined Virgin Media, the CFO duties were handled on an interim basis by former board member Charles Gallagher after Jacques Kerrest resigned in April 2008. Virgin Media, whose largest shareholder is Richard Branson's Virgin Entertainment group, was formed from combining several companies including cable operators NTL Inc. and Telewest, as well as cell-phone company Virgin Mobile. It was relaunched in February 2007 as Britain's first company to offer cable television, Internet, mobile and landline phone services.- Loading Comments...
