HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Industrial services company Harsco Corp. said Tuesday it received new orders valued at more than $3 million to support construction projects worldwide.

The company said the orders reflect its international reach and increasing focus on emerging market infrastructure.

Harsco said its engineered formwork equipment will be used in the concrete construction of a new hydropower expansion project in central Laos. Its formwork also will be used in a hydroelectric construction project in Uganda.

Formwork is a mold that concrete or similar materials are poured into in order to make walls, floors, and columns.

Harsco said it will provide rental formwork for a new bridge project in eastern Russia, and that it has received orders for formwork for two other bridge construction projects, in southern Poland and the Czech Republic.

Harsco recently announced its formwork will be used to support the construction of two new power plants in the Netherlands and Hungary.

Shares of Harsco rose 33 cents to $34.09 in midday trading.
