Hottest Chinese Solar Stock: Yingli Tops Poll

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- When we asked readers' to give us their pick for best Chinese solar stock this week, the masses came through to the tune of nearly 6,100 votes cast.

Thus, with a sizable sample to study, here are some results to pass the time over the Labor Day weekend.

Coming in fifth, fourth and third, are the trifecta of Trina Solar(TSL Quote), LDK Solar(LDK Quote) and JA Solar(JASO Quote), which pulled in 10.1%, 12.8% and 13.4% of the vote, respectively.

That left Suntech Power(STP Quote) and Yingli Green(YGE Quote) to duke it out for the top spot. Yingli Green, not surprisingly, took this week's crown with 35.1% of the vote.

On Friday, Yingli Green tracked up with most of the solar sector, adding 39 cents, or 3.4%, to close at $11.83. Since Monday, American depositary shares have put on 7.4%, though they've also gained a whopping 94% since the beginning of the year.
