WASHINGTON (AP) — Rockwell Collins Inc. spent more than $154,000 lobbying on aviation, specialty metals, weapon systems and more in the second quarter, according to a recent disclosure form.
The Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based company spent more than $173,000 during the year-ago period for lobbying work, and over $240,000 in the first quarter. Rockwell, a maker of electronics and services aviation systems, lobbied Congress on the Federal Aviation Administration's NextGen satellite-based air traffic control system. The FAA plans to use NextGen to replace older radar-based air traffic control systems, with the goal of improving safety and cutting down on flight delays. Defense lobbying on weapons programs included the Joint Tactical Radio System, the Army's modernization program, and a handheld military GPS system for soldiers, according to the form filed July 13 with the House clerk's office. Rockwell also lobbied the departments of Transportation, Defense, Treasury and other agencies during the April-June period.- Loading Comments...
