Fluor Completes Joint Venture Project In Kuwait

IRVING, Texas (AP) — Fluor Corp. completed a multibillion-dollar project for a joint venture with Dow Chemical Co. and Petrochemical Industries Co. in Kuwait, the company said Thursday.

The engineering and construction company began work on the project in July 2004 providing overall management and front-end engineering and design work for utilities and infrastructure of the Olefins II Project. It was completed in June.

The joint venture also included Bubyan Petrochemical and Qurain Petrochemical Industries.

Fluor also received a pact for engineering, procurement and construction management for the sea water cooling towers, new utilities and infrastructure with aromatics, and more.

Shares of Fluor fell 56 cents to $53.37 in afternoon trading.
