FDA Issues Warning Letter To Cambrex

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Cambrex Corp., which makes active drug ingredients, said Monday the Food and Drug Administration has warned the company about record keeping problems at a plant in Milan, Italy.

The company said the FDA uncovered the problems during an inspection in March.

Cambrex said it has already addressed many of the problems outlined in the agency's warning letter and is working to fully resolve the issues.

The FDA may deny approval of new products manufactured at the facility and also ban U.S. imports of older products made at the facility.

Shares of Cambrex Corp. fell 12 cents, or 2.2 percent, to $5.37 in aftermarket trading, having closed the regular session at $5.37.
