Eastman Chemical Spent $270K Lobbying Gov't In 2Q

WASHINGTON (AP) — Eastman Chemical Co. spent $270,000 lobbying the federal government in the second quarter on clean energy, antitrust and other issues, according to a recent disclosure report.

The Kingsport, Tenn.-based manufacturer of coatings and specialty plastics lobbied on legislation dealing with industrial gasification incentives as well as shareholder rights, antitrust and labor issues.

The company lobbied Congress and the Energy Department in the April-June period, according to the report filed July 20 with the House clerk's office.
