NYSE: Piper Jaffray Cos., up $2.83 at $49.13 Goldman Sachs upgraded the investment bank and added it to a recommended portfolio, citing an improving market for stock issues. Macy<s Inc., up 93 cents at $16.40 The department store chain<s results were weighed down by costs for consolidations and efforts to tailor merchandise to local markets. Sara Lee Corp., down $1.08 at $9.72 The maker of Sara Lee breads and Jimmy Dean sausages narrowed its loss in the fourth quarter but gave a weak outlook for the year. Toll Brothers Inc., up $2.94 at $23.42 The luxury homebuilder posted its first annual increase in signed contracts in four years, up 44 percent from the previous quarter. Waste Management Inc., up $1.17 at $30.02 An analyst said the nation's No. 1 trash hauler could see energy-related profit from rising prices and a growing power portfolio. Brunswick Corp., down 55 cents at $9.03 The maker of boats, exercise equipment and pool tables priced its offering of $350 million in debt and amended its credit facility. NASDAQ Columbia Sportswear Co., up $1.30 at $36.19 The outdoor clothing company<s conservative outlook and underperforming stock prompted an analyst to boost her rating and price target.
