SAN FRANCISCO (TheStreet) -- The recession has forced stores to be creative to lure shoppers. That's why retailers are once again seeking help from highbrow designers this fall.

Jimmy Choo and Anna Sui are testing the retail waters this year for the first time. Familiar names like Stella McCartney will also return to your local mall, along with Adam Lippes for Spanish retailer Mango and Christopher Kane for Top Shop.

The most highly anticipated collaboration the fall brings together Jimmy Choo and trendy clothing chain H&M. Jimmy Choo will debut a line of shoes, bags and clothing on Nov. 14. Previous designer ventures at H&M have included hugely successful lines by McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld and Roberto Cavalli.

Jimmy Choo debuts men's and women's clothing and accessories at H&M.

Founded in 1996, Jimmy Choo has become an icon in footwear as the red-carpet shoe of choice for actresses Cate Blanchett, Halle Berry and Hilary Swank.

Jimmy Choo has penned a collection of women's clothing to compliment its shoes. In a statement, Jimmy Choo President Tamara Mellon described the line as "sophisticated, fashion forward, accessible and glamorous."

This will be a first look at clothing from the designer, which has mostly stuck to shoes. There will also be a men's collection that includes shoes, bags and accessories.

After her own hugely successful collaboration with H&M, McCartney has been nurturing a kid's collection for San Francisco-based Gap(GPS). The line will be available at select GapKid and babyGap stores starting in November.

McCartney, a mother of three, is hardly a stranger to these partnerships. In the past, she has worked with Adidas(ADS) and Target(TGT), which sold out of her 42-piece line in 2007. Her Gap line will feature budget-friendly duds for children.
