NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- The markets managed to stay at lofty levels Tuesday as they eked out gains.
For the day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average tacked on 33.63, or 0.36%, to 9320.19, while the S&P 500 rose 3.02, or 0.30%, to 1005.65. The Nasdaq added 2.70, or 0.13%, to 2011.31. Steve Grasso on CNBC's "Fast Money" TV show, said the market's ability to maintain its record levels set on Monday was significant because the hedge funds tried to push and break the back of the markets and the mutual funds were forced to buy in at those levels.
