Wrong! Dispatches from the Front
Personal computer day! People are talking up Apple (AAPL - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr) and Gateway(GTW - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr). Compaq is (CPQ - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr) on the cover of BusinessWeek and Intel (INTC - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr) says business is strong. It is, in short, the safest group out there and we are augmenting positions in the names. In fact, the only one that we aren't plunging into is Dell (DELL - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr), but that's because the others have all been picking up new sponsorship and gaining steam. They aren't expensive, either. It has been a while since we have made the boxmaker bet. Frankly, the group has been so in step with Dell for so long that we lost interest when the market lost interest in Dell. Now things have changed. Compaq may be emerging as the new leader and we think that its best days are still ahead of it. Random musings: No Cookie-Puss Todd-o today, but I can convey his thinking. He likes them if they sell off ahead of a cash build in the mutual funds that will force them to come in when the dog days end. We agree!
