Shares of many casino companies traded lower with the broader market on Friday, and Melco Crown Entertainment(MPEL Quote) announced 1.2 million visitors attended its City of Dreams resort in Macau in June.
Melco said that rolling chip performance, a measure of VIP play, improved sequentially weekly to about $1.94 billion in June. City of Dreams' mass market table games' hold percentage -- the amount won by the casino as a percentage of the total wagered -- was within its targeted range of 16% to 18% in June. The rolling chip hold percentage, however, was less than 1%; the target was 2.85%. Elsewhere, among casino companies, Las Vegas Sands(LVS Quote) was down 3.8% to $7.41. MGM Mirage(MGM Quote) was down 4% to $6. Wynn Entertainment(WYNN Quote) was down 5% to $33.58. Boyd Gaming(BYD Quote) was down 4% to $8.27. Penn National Gaming(PENN Quote) was down 3.1% to $28.36.
