On last Friday's "Mad Money," Jim Cramer made a point of calling out two energy plays that he called his faves: Occidental Petroleum(OXY Quote) and First Solar(FSLR Quote). Shares of Occidental Petroleum were surging on the day with the rest of the oil stocks, up $2.18, or 3.4%, to hit $66.48 by late afternoon. First Solar, which Cramer called the one solar stock he'd own, was in the red today. Shares slipped $2.87, or 1.8%, to land at $157.85 just ahead of the closing bell. This week, Occidental Petroleum reportedly joins a who's who's list of some of the world's biggest oil companies in Iraq. Exxon Mobil(XOM Quote), Chevron(CVX Quote), and Lukoil(LUKOY Quote) join some 30 international energy companies in all. Each will bid for the right to develop oil and gas in Iraq. The country has the third largest oil reserves in the world. The bidding was set to begin on Monday, but sandstorms in Baghdad delayed the start of the process until Tuesday. Shares of Exxon Mobil and Chevron were helping lift much of the market upswing today, up 1.7% and 1.1% just before the closing bell.
