Petsmart Promotes COO Robert Moran To Top Post

PHOENIX (AP) Pet supplies retailer Petsmart Inc. said Thursday its board has promoted Chief Operating Officer Robert Moran to the CEO job.
Current CEO Phil Francis will become executive chairman of the board. Moran, 58, has been COO and president since 2001. Previously, he had been with Toys "R'' Us Ltd. of Canada; Sears, Roebuck and Co.; and Galerias Preciados of Madrid. Moran first joined Petsmart in July 1999 as president of North American Stores. In its most recent quarter that ended May 3, Petsmart said its profit rose 12 percent on higher merchandise and service sales. Phoenix-based Petsmart shares rose 9 cents to $20.35 Thursday afternoon.- Loading Comments...
