OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The state's largest electric utility says it has narrowed to three its list of bidders to build massive new wind farms in northwestern Oklahoma.
Oklahoma Gas & Electric, a subsidiary of OGE Energy Corp., said Thursday it received about 60 responses to a request for proposals from wind power developers to build about 300 megawatts of new capability. The company says it plans to begin contract negotiations with CPV Keenan, Edison Mission and Chermac Energy. OG&E previously announced plans to develop an additional 600 megawatts of wind power, quadrupling its current amount. The company now receives about 170 megawatts of wind power from two facilities in northwest Oklahoma. Construction is under way on a third facility south of Woodward.- Loading Comments...
