Apple iPhone Users Hit Snag With Upgrade
Despite plenty of hype, the latest version of Apple's(AAPL Quote) iPhone operating system appeared to hit something of a speed bump Wednesday, as some users struggled to download iPhone OS 3.0.
A message explaining that the iPhone activation server is "temporarily unavailable" greeted at least some members of the Apple fanbase when they attempted to download the new OS. The 21st-century equivalent of the town square, Twitter, has been deluged with messages about the problems, although Apple has not yet responded to TheStreet.com's request for comment. Posts on Internet message boards tell a mixed story, with some iPhone users upgrading their OS without a hitch, and others hitting the activation server snag. Apple, which is pitting its new iPhone 3GS against Palm's(PALM Quote) new Pre phone, has been making a song and dance about iPhone OS 3.0, which includes new features such as cut, copy and paste and multimedia messaging (MMS).- Loading Comments...
