Amylin, Eli Lilly See No Rise In Byetta Heart Risk

The panel gave Bristol-Myers Squibb Co.'s and AstraZeneca's Onglyza, or saxagliptin, a favorable 10 to 2 recommendation, but unanimously said the drug should continue to be studied on high-risk cardiovascular patients to assure safety.

Shares of San Diego-based Amylin fell 23 cents, or 2 percent, to $11.26 in afternoon trading Tuesday.

Shares of Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly fell 51 cents to $33.59 and shares of Cambridge, Mass.-based Alkermes Inc., also a partner on Byetta, rose 12 cents to $8.67.
