BofA Capital Raising Has Yielded $26B
Firms that complete the capital raising efforts will be able to repay the government's Troubled Asset Relief Program funds if they can prove they are stable and well-capitalized. Several companies have applied to do so already, including American Express (AXP), BB&T (BBT) and Northern Trust (NTRS), while others, like Wells Fargo (WFC), JPMorgan Chase (JPM), Goldman Sachs (GS) and Morgan Stanley (MS) have been vocal about their desire to do so. Some of those firms did not require any additional capital as a result of the stress test.
Separately on Wednesday, PNC Financial Services (PNC) said it had completed its own capital raising efforts.TheStreet Premium Services
