Produce Group Spent $210K Lobbying In 1Q

WASHINGTON (AP) — The United Fresh Produce Association, which represents farmers, grocers and restaurant chains, spent $210,000 in the first quarter to lobby on the federal budget, country of origin labeling and other issues, according to a recent disclosure report. The trade group — whose members include Safeway Inc., McDonald's Corp. and Kroger Co. — also lobbied on food safety, labor issues and other topics in the January-March period, according to the report filed April 18 with the House clerk's office.- Loading Comments...
