Coca-Cola Hellenic To Distribute Soup In Russia

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — Food maker Campbell Soup Co. said Tuesday it entered into a long-term agreement with Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Co. S.A. to distribute soup products in Russia.

Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling is the largest beverage distributor in Russia and is already distributing the company's Home Classics line in the Moscow region.

Campbell Soup called the deal a "significant growth opportunity."

"These markets will play an increasingly important role in Campbell's future as we gain momentum in our key areas of focus," said Campbell Soup Chief Executive Douglas R. Conant.

Under the terms of the agreement, Campbell Soup said it will be responsible for consumer and market research, brand management, marketing, product development and production. Coca-Cola Hellenic will be responsible for distribution, sales and in-store marketing.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
