On Tuesday's "Mad Money" show, Jim Cramer reviewed three speculative tech stocks.
He said that Motorola(MOT Quote) was having a tough time up against companies such as Apple(AAPL Quote) and Research In Motion(RIMM Quote). The company is losing money, he said, though its stock is up more than 40% this year. He recommended selling the stock. Sprint(S Quote), he said, is a buy on weakness. He liked the buzz surrounding the release of the Pre phone, as well as Sprint's cost-cutting measures and takeover prospects. But it's moved up 200% so far this year. AMD(AMD Quote) received a strong buy from Cramer. Cramer said demand for its product is strong. On Wednesday, Motorola closed down 15 cents, or 2.4%, at $6.09; Sprint added 8 cents, or 1.5%, to $5.58; and AMD closed up 11 cents, or 2.5%, at $4.50. Cramer said that Cummins(CMI Quote) is risky, because if the dollar gains strength, it will hurt the stock. With a global recovery, Cramer said he prefers Action Alerts PLUS name Caterpillar(CAT Quote) because it has more overseas potential and a better dividend. On Wednesday, Cummins gained 31 cents, or 1%, to $32.85. Caterpillar closed down 37 cents, or 1%, at $37.30.- Loading Comments...
