Steris Board Raises Quarterly Dividend 38 Percent

MENTOR, Ohio (AP) — Medical products maker Steris Corp. said Thursday its board of directors raised the quarterly dividend by 38 percent to 11 cents.

The dividend is payable June 18 to shareholders of record as of May 21. The company has about 58.8 million shares of common stock outstanding.

The dividend boost follows Steris' fourth-quarter profit report of a 7 percent boost as lower costs offset a decline in revenue.

Steris shares rose $3.29, or 14 percent, to $26.69 in morning trading. The stock has traded between $19.20 and $38.93 over the past 52 weeks.
