RESTON, Va. (AP) — Maximus Inc., a provider of government health services, said Thursday that a subsidiary has been awarded an expansion of a contract valued at $266 million to provide employment services in Australia.

The base contract lasts three years.

MAXNetWork was awarded a rebid and expansion of its Job Services Australia contract.

The client can exercise two three-year option periods beginning in July 2012.

Maximus estimates that the contract, which begins July 1, will increase its annual revenue run rate for all of its Australian operations from roughly $40 million to a range of $90 million to $95 million.

Under the new contract, Maximus will continue to deliver employment services in the areas of long-term employment and job seeker participation. It also will offer assistance and prevention of homelessness services and work experience placement for clients.
