10 Ways to Avoid Becoming a Fashion Victim

2. You cannot wear sneakers to the beach: It's the worst faux pas you can make at a Mediterranean beach club: showing up in your sneakers. Even if you're strapped for cash, a cheap pair of Havaianas cost as little as $10 and prevent you from having to sit in your chaise, untie your shoes and remove your sweaty and sandy socks to the disgust of your neighbors. Sure, they're uncomfortable for distance walking, but that's when you simply flip them off and go like a native.

1. Don't be a beach club fashion victim: It was 3 p.m. in St. Tropez and you were feeling the effects of Domaines Ott and a $1,000 lunch at La Voile Rouge. Located just off the main dining deck is that one-room boutique with a breezy collection of linen shirts, bedazzled skirts and super-dresses that seduced your shopping senses. Fast-forward later that evening, 700 euros later, and you're walking the cobblestone streets with your head held high unknowingly displaying the red ink of a true summer vacation fashion victim. You don't realize your own crime until Photoshopping your summer pictures at home and realizing you were conned into the beach club fashion victim.
