Constellation Energy Posts 1Q Loss On Items

Constellation Energy reaffirmed its 2009 earnings outlook of $2.90 per share to $3.20 per share. For 2010, the company maintained an estimate between $3.05 per share and $3.45 per share.

"In the past six months, we significantly reduced our exposure to collateral variability associated with movements in coal and gas prices and improved net available liquidity," Shattuck said. "We're confident that any incremental losses associated with further de-risking will not alter our 2009 guidance."

Analysts project 2009 income of $2.90 per share and 2010 earnings of $3.08 per share.
