A joint venture between Dow Chemical and Corning Inc., Dow Corning Corp., reported a 94 percent dropoff in first-quarter profits as demand for its silicone-based products such as adhesives and insulating materials plunged.

Shaw Group Inc., down $3.13 at $30.40

Shares in the Hartford, Conn.-based engineering and construction company fell after the company announced a delay in work on a nuclear power plant in Florida.

Aon Corp., down $5.82 at 36.38.

The insurance broker said its first-quarter profit increased on cost cutting measures but earnings missed analysts estimates.

MetLife Inc., down $2.30 at $27.45.
