Amerigroup Raises 2009 Profit And Revenue Outlooks

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — Health insurer Amerigroup Corp. boosted its 2009 profit and revenue estimates Friday after posting strong first-quarter results.
The company, which provides coverage to 1.7 million people in 11 states, called for a profit of $2.70 per share to $2.85 per share. It had expected $2.50 to $2.65 per share previously. It raised its revenue estimate to $5 billion to $5.1 billion from $4.9 billion to $5 billion. Analysts expected $2.65 per share and $5.02 billion, according to Thomson Reuters.
