DuPont Names Former Secretary Of Energy To Board

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — Chemical manufacturing company DuPont Co. said Wednesday that Samuel W. Bodman, former U.S. secretary of energy, was elected to its board during the company's annual shareholders meeting.

Bodman, 70, served as deputy treasury secretary and deputy commerce secretary under President George W. Bush before being appointed to serve as energy secretary during Bush's second term.

Previous to that, Bodman was chairman and chief executive of specialty chemical and materials company Cabot Corp.

DuPont shares rose 64 cents, or 2.3 percent, to $28.15 in afternoon trading.
