Analyst Positive On Regal, Imax, Carmike In 2Q
Regal shares rose 32 cents, or 2.3 percent, to $14.24 in morning trading. Carmike shares added 26 cents, or 10.2 percent, to $2.81.
Also Thursday, Wold affirmed his "Buy" rating for shares of Imax, which makes large-screen movie systems. The analyst said that the company's second-quarter film lineup — plus an expectation for an extra 20 to 25 screens showing each movie over the number showing them in the first quarter — will help its film revenue rise over the previous period. He thinks the company will keep seeing demand rise from studios in the wake of "impressive results" from movies that have been shown on its screens. Wold also noted that installations of new Imax screens are on schedule, and he now thinks the company will become profitable in its second quarter, rather than in the third quarter. "We continue to believe reaching profitability will be a key turning point for the Imax story — especially if it is earlier than expected," he said. Imax shares advanced 11 cents, or 2.5 percent, to $4.56.- Loading Comments...
