Tiffany, Walgreen, Citigroup Are Big Movers

NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Monday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market:

Tiffany & Co., up $3.14 at $23.37

While the jewelry retailer's fourth-quarter profit tumbled more than 75 percent, adjusted results topped analysts' expectations.

Walgreen Co., up $2.29 at $26.58

Cost-cutting efforts helped, but the drugstore operator's profit fell anyway on lower consumer spending and restructuring expenses.

Citigroup Inc., up 51 cents at $3.13

A new government plan to help banks remove as much as $1 trillion in bad assets from their books lifted banking shares.

CF Industries Holdings Inc., up $3.51 at $71.19

Executives at the fertilizer maker said Agrium's $3.6 billion buyout bid is "grossly inadequate" and urged shareholders to reject it.

Daimler AG, up $1.73 at $30.18

Abu Dhabi-based Aabar Investments PJSC bought a 9.1 percent stake in the automaker, making it the biggest shareholder.

H&R Block Inc., down $1.75 at $17.38

While overall tax preparation revenue for the current season is above year-ago levels, the company said retail numbers fell.

Airgas Inc., up $1.10 at $33.66

The medical and industrial gas company cut its full year outlook, citing declining sales volumes amid tumultuous economic conditions.

Central European Media Enterprises Ltd., up $4.50 at $14.50

Media conglomerate Time Warner Inc. said it will pay $241.5 million for a 31 percent stake in the Bermuda-based broadcast company.
