Semiconductor makers were losing ground Friday, with the Philadelphia Semiconductor Sector index losing 0.6%. Among individual names, STMicroelectronics (STM Quote) was losing 4.8%, Texas Instruments (TXN Quote) was down 3.4%, Intel (INTC Quote) was slumping 2.4%, and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD Quote) was off 0.6%.
