LeapFrog Names CEO As Chairman, Fills Board Seats

EMERYVILLE, Calif. (AP) — LeapFrog Enterprises Inc. on Wednesday named its chief executive as chairman of the board and appointed two other board members.

CEO Jeffrey Katz, who's also president, replaces Steven Fink, who resigned after five years as chairman. Katz has been a board member since 2005.

Ralph Smith also stepped down. He has served on the board for the past four years.

Filling the two vacant board seats are Philip Simon, president of Lawrence Investments LLC, and Paul Marinelli, who is a vice president at the same company.

Emeryville, Calif.-based LeapFrog makes educational software and other products. Shares of LeapFrog gained 2 cents to close at $1.63 on Wednesday.
