NEW YORK (AP) — David Carlucci, the chief executive of IMS Health Inc., received a compensation package worth $5.9 million in 2008, down 21 percent from the year before, according to an Associated Press calculation of figures disclosed in a regulatory filing made late Wednesday. Carlucci, who is also the president and chairman of the health care market research firm, drew a salary of $850,000 for the year, an increase of less than 1 percent from 2007. His performance bonus decreased 17 percent to $567,500, and the value of Carlucci's other compensation fell 34 percent to about $100,300. IMS shares lost 34 percent of their value in 2008 to finish the year at $15.16. Carlucci, who was named chief executive in January 2005, also cut back sharply on the use of IMS' corporate jet and other perks. The value of his stock and options on the dates they were granted dropped 24 percent to $4.4 million, but IMS stock is worth only about half the options' exercise price of $22.58 per share. Friday afternoon, the stock rose 9 cents to $12.30.- Loading Comments...
