Shares of Kroger(KR Quote), which Thursday announced a quarterly dividend of $9 cents per share to be paid June 1, rose 2.3% to $21.30.
Whole Foods (WFMI Quote) was up 9.6% to $14.11.
Safeway(SWY Quote) rose 3.7% to $19.07.
SuperValu(SVU Quote) rose 3.1% to $14.83.
Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co.(GAP Quote) rose 10.8% to $4.31.
Costco(COST Quote) rose 3.3% to $40.86.
BJ's Wholesale(BJ Quote) rose 3.5% to $29.05.
Wal-Mart(WMT Quote) rose 3.1% to $48.94.
Winn Dixie(WINN Quote) rose 3.7% to $9.01.
