Grocery Stocks: Kroger, GAP Shoot Higher

Mirroring the broader market, grocery stocks were largely up Tuesday.

Shares of Kroger(KR Quote), which Tuesday morning reported a solid fourth quarter, closed up 10.2% to $21.44.

Whole Foods (WFMI Quote) rose 8.1% to $12.71.

Safeway(SWY Quote) rose 6.1% to $18.29.

SuperValu(SVU Quote) rose 4.7% to $14.49.

Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co.(GAP Quote) shot up 20% to $3.66.

Costco(COST Quote) rose 4.4% to $40.14.

BJ's Wholesale(BJ Quote) fell 2.9% to $29.18.

Wal-Mart(WMT Quote) rose 2.4% to $48.67.

Winn Dixie(WINN Quote) rose 9% to $8.74.
