Cantel Medical 2Q profit rises 75 percent

LITTLE FALLS, N.J. (AP) — Infection-prevention products maker Cantel Medical Corp. said Monday its profit grew 75 percent in the fiscal second quarter as sales edged up and the company trimmed its costs.
Cantel reported net income of $3.8 million, or 23 cents per share, for the three months ended Jan. 31. That compares with $2.2 million, or 13 cents per share, in the previous year. Sales rose 2.5 percent to $62.4 million from $60.9 million. The company trimmed its cost of sales and halved its interest expense in the second quarter. Cantel shares advanced 73 cents, or 6 percent, to $12.87 in morning trading.- Loading Comments...
