Online Broker Survey 2000

Online Brokers: Vote Now!

Time to vote!

You the readers of TheStreet.com are among the most discerning and demanding users of online brokerage services. It's time again to tell us what you think. We want to know whether there have been improvements in this highly competitive and rapidly changing industry since our last poll six months ago.

In particular, we will be looking to see if online brokers have responded to your complaints about slow executions. And, given the upset in the markets in April, when customers with margin accounts were squeezed, we will be asking about your experiences as margin traders. Also, for the first time, we'll be looking for feedback on direct-access brokers, a relatively new breed of online brokers that promise super low-cost transactions using electronic communications networks.

In our Online Broker Survey 2000, which was conducted in February, more than 10,000 TSC readers weighed in. The consensus: Investors were less than thrilled with the service they were receiving from their online brokers.

Have things improved? The voting begins now. Once we compile all the data, we'll let you know what we find. Plus,we'll report on the state of the online brokerage industry.
