Dell Falls Short on Revenue Line
Shares of Dell have slumped in recent months as the company wrestled with slowing IT spending in the U.S., Europe, and parts of Asia.
Even sales of Dell's mobility products, which have traditionally driven its revenue, slowed significantly during the third quarter. Sales of Dell's laptop products were flat, although the company attributed this to a transition to new product lines. Dell, which recently unveiled its Inspiron 9 mini-laptop, also ended the quarter with $8.9 billion in cash and investments.
