Travel With the Internet Radio Jukebox

LOS ANGELES -- This first gadget may be music to your ears. The Inernet Radio Jukebox is easy to program, pack and carry. It does not have a monthly fee, and there is no software to install. Gadget Grrl says this Jukebox is great for the mobile executive who often bounces from state to state, because it is lightweight, user-friendly and allows you to search through 50 different genres and then by country.

Next, Gadget Grrl recommends a pair of headphones that she found to be superior in sound, noise-blocking and comfort. They have lots of padding, but are not bulky, and can even be used with a hearing aid.

Now more about the Jukebox.

If you've ever tried to listen to Internet Radio, there are a few issues that may occur that get in the way of a good experience. If you use some of the software available today, it could cost you a monthly subscription fee. And if you go directly to the radio stations' sites, it's difficult to create a list of favorite stations.

This new USB device, Internet Radio Jukebox, allows you to access over 13,000 stations across the planet without paying a monthly fee.

And because it's USB and the size of a thumbdrive, you can take it anywhere, plug it into a USB slot and get your favorite stations anywhere, anytime.

For the mobile executive, this can be a time-saving device, since you don't have to keep searching for your favorite station on the road. What makes this easy to use is that you can search through 50 different genres and then by country. Once you find a station, you just add it to a favorites folder and that's it. Not complicated.

What I like about this device is that there is no software required to use it. Some players are notorious for having spyware and adware attached to it, so it's nice to see something come out that doesn't complicate your listening.

My one gripe here is that it would be nice if it worked on a Mac (AAPL).

When I travel, I see all kinds of headphones, earbuds and listening devices. If you have a schedule like mine, 15 cities in three weeks, then you might want to do what I do and switch between earbuds and a superior set of headphones.
