Tomorrow's Headliners: Nike, Lowe's
09/23/08 - 05:37 PM EDT
Traders will again hear from Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke Wednesday, the second of three consecutive days of testimony he'll be providing in Washington, and they'll be listening for more details on the government's plan to right the economy.
Next up for Bernanke is the Joint Economic Committee of Congress, an appearance that will come on the heels of a long, tough session with Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson before the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs. Meanwhile, earnings are due from a few more companies, this time Bed Bath & Beyond (BBBY Quote - Cramer on BBBY - Stock Picks), Nike (NKE Quote - Cramer on NKE - Stock Picks), Red Hat (RHT Quote - Cramer on RHT - Stock Picks) and Paychex (PAYX Quote - Cramer on PAYX - Stock Picks). Home-improvement goods seller Lowe's (LOW Quote - Cramer on LOW - Stock Picks) and business-software maker Intuit (INTU Quote - Cramer on INTU - Stock Picks) are both scheduled to hold investor conferences. As for the economic calendar, two items of note are expected, existing-home sales numbers and weekly crude oil inventories from the Energy Department.
