The first mobile device powered by Google's(GOOG Quote - Cramer on GOOG - Stock Picks) "Android" mobile phone software is expected to sell for $199 and will showcase the Google brand, the Wall Street Journal reports, citing people familiar with the matter.
The move by Google is a departure from the standard practice of listing only the manufacturer and wireless carrier on handsets. The phone is expected to be introduced next week, the Journal reported. The Google phone, made by Taiwan's HTC Group, will require service with T-Mobile USA, a unit of Deutsche Telekom(DT Quote - Cramer on DT - Stock Picks).
