Western Digital(WDC Quote) was down $3.35, or 10%, to $30.27 after the company said revenue grew 46% in the fourth quarter, but profit remained flat. Revenue grew to $1.99 billion and was higher than analysts' expectations of $1.89 billion. An analyst at Needham downgraded the stock to buy from strong buy following the results.
GPS technology-based chip maker Sirf Technology(SIRF Quote) lost 62 cents, or 14.7%, to $3.60 after it posted a hefty loss in the second quarter as writedowns and weak demand took a toll on earnings. Sirf said it expects third-quarter revenue between $60 million and $64 million, vs. the $69.9 million expected by analysts. BMC Software(BMC Quote) shed $3.19, or 8.8%, to $32.99 after it reported lower earnings for its first quarter though revenue grew 14%. EPS, excluding charges related to acquisition of BladeLogic, were 43 cents, while revenue increased to $437.5 million from $385 million a year ago. Analysts were expecting earnings of 43 cents a share on revenue of $432.6 million. Citrix Systems(CTXS Quote) was down 65 cents, or 2.5%, to $25.59 after the company reported a lower second-quarter profit. Net income for the quarter was $34.6 million, or 18 cents a share, compared with $53.4 million, or 29 cents a share, a year ago. Excluding charges, the company reported EPS of 38 cents, two cents higher than Street expectations. Revenue rose to $391.7 million from $334.4 million in the quarter and compared to analysts' estimates of $386 million. An analyst at Robert W.
