Here's what CNBC's "Fast Money" traders had to say about some of the market's biggest movers on their "Pops and Drops" segment Thursday.
Pops
Seeing gains was Occidental Petroleum(OXY Quote); it popped 2%. Joe Terranova said that it had "a little bit of a pop today," and it "will recover if oil moves back higher." Next was RadioShack(RSH Quote), popping 14%. Jeff Macke advised investors to "trim some of your RadioShack," and to take some profit. Another stock advancing was Autonation (AN Quote). This stock moved up 11%, with Macke commenting that expectations were low with retailers. Rocketing higher for the day was Sanmina-SCI(SANM Quote). It saw upward of 18% in gains; however, Tim Seymour said that he would "stay away."Drops
Seeing losses was Southwest Airlines(LUV Quote). Macke said that "people got excited about the (fuel) hedging." Dropping 13% was Pulte Homes(PHM Quote). Taking on losses, down 38%, was Mechel Open Joint Stock (MTL Quote). Seymour said investors did not know "Putin would come out and slap these guys publicly." He advised investors that he believes "MTL's worth a shot." Restaurateur Chipotle(CMG Quote) was dropping 20%. Finerman said that it is "too bad," because it has great operators, although it cannot overcome the headwinds. Down ticking 5% was Xerox(XRX Quote). Terranova said that second-quarter earnings were lousy and he "wouldn't touch it." Wrapping up the drops was Scholastic(SCHL Quote), falling 7%. Finerman said that the company missed on earnings and was cutting jobs; overall, it "didn't sound good."- Loading Comments...
