Finding Best Online Auto Insurance Deals

Every day there are more and more Web sites available to search for the best prices on auto insurance.

We went to the sites Esurance.com, Insweb.com and Progressive.com and searched for rates based on a 30-year-old male and female with a 2007 Toyota Camry and a 2005 Ford Explorer, with an average credit history. We used policy limits of $100,000 per person per accident and $300,000 per total accident with $500 deductibles.

Our findings, which showed a wide variation in prices nationwide, are published in TheStreet.com Ratings Consumer Guide to Auto Insurance and shown in the table below.

Many companies also have direct buyer capability on their own sites so if you already do business with a company, say for homeowners insurance, you should check there also.
